  2. A decent performance but a very disappointing result for the U16s on Saturday. In what was a very competitve game where we created many good scoring opportunities we managed to lose 4-0!!! The four goals came from 4 individual errors but RTB took their chances very well whereas I don't we would have scored if we were still playing now! Lets put it right this week.

  3. well done to our under 9s
once again fantastic performance agaist a good strong phyical team.
you showed us what you are learning and what we are teaching you for the full 60 minutes, well done BUT yes there is a but you should never let youselves be pushed and shoved off the ball ,however big they are , remember you keep pocket money (posession)by being strong it showed they wanted the pocket money more than you ,have confidence you are bigger and better and must believe in yourselves keep up the hard work always keeping it real.

  4. decent performance from U16s with a 5-1 win against RTB Ebbw Vale A in the cup. Althought they only had 10 players RTB played very well and made Fleur work hard for the win, RTB even took an early lead. But Fleur as expected dominated possession and goals from Morgan (2), Bleddyn, Luke and Lewis secured the win and entry to the next round.

  6. Not such a good performance on Saturday from the U16s going down to a vey good Cefn Fforest. As good as Cefn were we simply didnt turn up and for the first time this season let ourselves down. It was a very lacklustre performance and where we needed to be at our best against the older boys . Onwards and upwards for the cup game this weekend again against older opposition in RTB A.

  9. well done to our under 9s, just to say you have taken on board everything what WE ask you to do. If Y O U think to yourself that you have given every thing Y O U can give well then you have done your job. As being a football team this is what WE encourage. Always remember keep up the hard work and the fun times will shine through and we are keeping it real in fleur-de-lys.

  11. well done U16s with a 4-1 win over Pontymister today. After starting well the boys let their game go a bit a let Pontymister back in instead of killing the game off early. Anyway we kept patient like last week and won 4-1 in the end after some huffing and puffing making hard work of it. Goals from Morgan (2), Luke and Ieuan.

  14. Well done U16s with a very comfortable local derby win over Pengam 4-0. The scoreline does not reflect the dominance of the Fleur side, we didn't even concede a corner all game. We created many chances but didn't get the luck of most bounces, we hit the bar 3 times. In a game where we reshuffled the the team with many regulars starting on the bench or in an unfamiliar position the boys kept their patience and the goals came from Morgan (2), Golding and Luke. Keeping it REAL

    (Posted on 2011-10-17 18:59:00 by Dr B)
  17. As expected for the U16's another crazy game with Crumlin as per the norm. We had a great start and led 3 times in a real tough game but it ended 4-4!! At times we were very good and others very bad, just one of those days. Goals were from Bleddyn, Dave, Golding and Morgan.

(Posted on 2011-10-16 21:15:00 by Ryland)
  18. A very good u14's game yesterday against pontymister b,with a fantastic effort by the fleur boys, and a good performance by the ref,(colin),thanks mate, the scoreline did not reflect the true nature of the game ,in fact it flattered pontymister, running out 5-1 winners.fleur going in 2-1 down at half time against the run of play, were very unfortunate.but thats football, well done lads a great effort, lets go on from this and keep your heads up,and KEEP IT REAL.

  19. Im sat here watching this x factor rubbish on tele ,thinking how good it would be to be re watching our under 9s instead. once again the fantastic effort off all our squad was just surreal from goalkeeping to defence into midfield and producing some fantastic goals , just goes to prove what talent we have got in fleur football club, How proud are we of you all ? when everyone of you deserves player of the match .remember you work hard in trainingf or this, it do pay off (pocket money off mams and dads) and we are always trying to keeping it REAL in everything we do. well done keep up the hard work

(Posted on 2011-10-16 20:20:00 by colin)
  20. Had the pleasure of blowing the whistle for wayne and jeffs boys today ,must say that the boys played some outstanding football and worked really hard to do good against amuch bigger older winging team. The understanding of all players on what to do with the ball is second to none with some nice 1-2 football very strong in the air and all together good old battling for the ball, would just like to say its a pleasure to be a part of fleur football team. once again well done, stay on you game and keep it REAL in fleur-de-lys.

  22. Just wanted to say thanks for a fab night at last Friday's fundraiser for the under 12/14s Holland Tour next year.... great artist/comedian (including the raffle commentary from Mark!!), just a shame it all ended too soon. Looking forward to the next one (and well done to Jason and the under 12's on another amazing win Saturday - hope you can keep the sheet clean for this weekends local derby!)

  23. after a few weeks without a game back to winning ways for the U16s with a 5-1 victory away to Tredegar. We looked a little rusty and we switched the team around throughout the game to allow everyone to get plenty of game time. We didn't take most of our chances but the win was the important thing. Goals from Dave (2), Morgan, Golding and Bleddyn on his debut. Keeping it REAL.

  25. great game this morning with the U8's against Aberbargoed. A very entertaining match with some great passing football in warm conditions from 2 very good sides who remain unbeaten. Keeping it REAL Fleur De Lys

  26. Just to re-iterate what Colin said, Fantastic football being played by all in the under 9s, great team effort yesterday, some wonderfull goals, great crossing and movements, if we learn to talk as much on the pitch as we do off the pitch, we'd be amazing :-). Also again just to say thanks to Mark for his superb control of the game, the arm gestures and whistle blowing proved how much fun he was having. Always difficult to find a good and willing referee but it looks like we have. Thanks mate.

Lastly thanks to Jason for his funny and dramatic match reports, my name has been put to credit for them but beleive me thay all come from the golden blackberry of Big Jas. :-)

(Posted on 2011-09-26 14:02:00 by Symon)
  27. A brave effort from U16s on saturday. Playing Ebbw Vale twice in 2 weeks is a challenge but we are not intimidated by anyone. We again gave them a close game but the bigger older boys eventually broke the deadlock in the last 10 minutes and ran out 2-0 winners. Keep up the effort and we will be fine and be up there challenging. Keeping it REAL Fleur De Lys.

(Posted on 2011-09-25 22:07:00 by Ryland)

  29. well done to the boys and girls of the 9s
There is no dout that you are taking on board what we are trying to teach you as for your commitment and determination, your tackling, your enthusiasm and your love for the game is showing in the fantastic football every single one of you is playing.we have seen a vast improvement on some key areas such as your tacling and finding space for one and another although there are times were we could still make it easyer for ourselves by communicating and taking the wright option at the right time but that is something we can work on once again well done but remember keep up the HARD WORK and keep it real in fleur-de-lys.

  34. I posted a paragraph about the under 9's match today, I believed that it was based on contructive critasism, but it has been brought to my attention that my comments have caused hurt and upset to members of the club staff, and possibly members of the team and their families, this was never my intention so openly on this page im offering my appology to the club itself, members of the club staff, the team and their families, im sorry if this has caused hurt and upset to anyone. I hope that my comments have not damaged the club in anyway, and once again i appologise for my comments, sorry to all of you.

  38. well done to the boys and girls of the 9s, actually playing cefn forest off the park today. unfortunutaly GIVING to many goals away led us to come back down to earth ,cant praise you enough for the effort and determination you showed , remember guys and girls talk and communicate to one and another and the result would have been the other way round .once again well done for keeping it reel in fleu de lys.
keep up the hard work well done

  39. A great effort lastnight from the U16s playing an older and MUCH bigger Ebbw Vale side who have battered everyone they have played so far. Despite conceding 2 poor early goals Fleur batlled back well to make it 2-2 by half time. It was a pretty even game to be honest but Ebbw Vale created a few more chances than Fleur in the second half and won 4-2. It was a performance that the boys should take massive encouragement from. Both Fleur goals came from Dave on his 3rd game for us.

  42. Great result again from U16s winning a fiesty affair 2-1 away to Oakdale. Fleur were not to be intimidated by the older boys and despite a few contentious moments we prevailed and got a hard earned win with goals from Morgan and Lewis and a fantastic divining save from Sam.

  46. A cracking start to the season for the under 9's, everything we said before the game you took on board, quality passing, strong in the tackle, staying switched on, a couple of goals and big smiles from one and all. We'll come up against stronger teams than Tredegar during the season, but we're a match for anyone!! Keep it REAL

  54. Well done U16s with a victory in our first league game playing up an age. A great 4-2 win away to Waunlwyd, the score not justifying our dominance and chances. The extra 10 minutes that they now have to play at this age group started to tell near the end but they kept strong. Lack of pre-season friendlies meant this was our first opportunity to get out and play and they did us proud. Goals from Luke (2), Morgan and Lewys Golding.

Well done to the U14s with their victory away at Pontymister

(Posted on 2011-08-31 14:22:00 by Symon Dunstan)
  56. The new season is about to kick-off and everyone should be looking forward to the challenges. Our junior teams all face massive seasons, the U12's playing their first season of competiive football and our u13s and u15s playing up a year at u14s and u16s respectively. All teams should be confident in their abilities and I'm sure they will front up to the challenges ahead. The mini football teams will build on the foundations of last season and continue to develop their skills.

After a tough last season following promotion the seniors look to build on that experience and consolidate their place in the North Gwent Premier Division. Despite one or two individuals bringing up the average age, it is a young team with many boys having come through from our past mini and junior teams.

Good luck to all the FLEUR DE LYS AFC teams!!! Come on "Real" Fleur de Lys!

(Posted on 2011-08-29 10:48:00 by Ryland)
  57. Good luck to all age groups for the forthcoming season,
